ASHEBORO NC [ARCHIVED]– In a public service announcement released on Friday, January 8th, the Randolph County Health Department announced that it is now taking appointments for Phase 1b – Group 1 as well as a new vaccine appointment line to call.
Under the vaccine plan the county is following, Phase 1a and Phase 1b, Group 1 are currently eligible for COVID-19 vaccines. These two groups include “Health care workers fighting COVID-19 & Long-Term Care staff and residents” and “Adults 75 years or older and frontline essential workers”.
An appointment is required to get the vaccine. Tremendously high call volume from people trying to make an appointment crashed the phone system earlier in the week. To address the problem, the health department added a new appointment line. The vaccine appointment line will go live at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 11th, 2021. If you are part of Phase 1a or Phase 1b, Group 1 and need to schedule an appointment for the vaccine, call 336-365-6110. If you experience trouble reaching someone at this number call 336-318-6223.
