ASHEBORO NC – A joint investigation between the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and the Asheboro Police Department has landed two people in jail on felony drug trafficking charges.
In a press release, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says their Vice/Narcotics Unit and the Asheboro Police Departments Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a joint investigation into the distribution of Methamphetamine in the Asheboro area.
On August 3rd that investigation led to a traffic stop of a car driven by Crystal Lilly Chiappini and Matthew Charles Chiappini, on I-73 in Randleman. Police say a search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding and seizing a trafficking amount of Methamphetamine.
A search warrant was obtained and executed on their residence on Arrow Wood Rd. in Asheboro. Police say they found Methamphetamine and Cocaine, along with a stolen firearm and drug paraphernalia.
Crystal and Matthew Chiappini were both transported to the Randolph County jail where the magistrate found probable cause multiple charges for the two.
