ASHEBORO N.C. – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on felony rape charges. According to a press release, on November 23rd, 2021, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual offense. An investigation was started by the Criminal Investigations Division which resulted in charges being sought against Shawn Lee Willard for Felony Second Degree Forcible Rape and Felony Second Degree Forcible Sex Offense. On December 9th, 2021, Willard was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail where he was issued a $30,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for December 10, 2021, in Randolph County District Court.
