Local Man Shot & Hit by Car Taken to Hospital

ASHEBORO N.C. – A man was taken to the hospital after being shot and then hit with a car on Dennis St in Asheboro yesterday.

According to information released by the Asheboro Police Department, on March 21st, 2023, just before 8:30 am, officers responded to 1928 Dennis Street in reference to a gunshot/assault.

When police arrived on scene they determined the victim, Jareem Xavier McBryde, had been taken to a local medical facility by his girlfriend.

“Preliminary information obtained on-scene indicated the victim was shot inside 1928 Dennis Street and then exited the residence. After exiting the residence, the victim was struck by a vehicle, which was
operated by his girlfriend,” said Police, adding that Detectives are working to clarify numerous conflicting stories from multiple individuals that were on-scene.
