ASHEBORO N.C. – Police have confirmed two people were injured and one arrested after a shooting in Asheboro earlier today.
According to the Asheboro Police Department, at approximately 12:50 p.m. Officers responded to Lowe Body and Glass, located at 201 Saunders Drive in Asheboro, for a reported shooting.
Arriving officers located two victims at the scene who had suffered gunshot wounds. The officers applied direct pressure and tourniquets on victims at the scene to control bleeding until EMS personnel arrived.
According to Asst. Chief of Police Brown, both victims were transported by EMS to out of county medical facilities for advanced treatment, were communicating with responders, and were listed in stable condition at the time of transport.
One suspect was taken into custody at the scene and is being interviewed by investigators, who are trying to piece together what happened.
The investigation is currently ongoing. Any additional information related to this incident should be directed to Detective E. Williamson of the Asheboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
UPDATE 12/21/23 2:30 AM – Late Wednesday evening, Asheboro Police booked Marshall Tyrel Ragsdale, 23, from Asheboro, into the Randolph County Jail on two counts of attempted first degree murder, and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

Ragsdale was convicted in 2022 in Guilford County for speeding to elude arrest and possession of a schedule-IV controlled substance and given probation. He also has another conviction in Guilford County from 2017 for two counts larceny and one count of assault inflicting serious injury, for which he was also given probation.
Randolph News Now has been able to confirm that at least one of the victims shot worked at Lowe Body and Glass, however we will not be releasing their names at this time.
