Copperheads Help Raise Over $10,000 For Victory Junction

ASHEBORO NC – Last Thursday was Victory Junction Night at McCrary Park. The Asheboro Copperheads took on the Florence RedWolves sporting a special Victory Junction jersey as part of a fundraiser that helped raise over 13,000 dollars to go towards providing children with serious illnesses the opportunity to go to the camp at no cost.

The fundraiser was a partnership between the Copperheads and Pinnacle Bank to help raise money for the camp, located between Randleman and Level Cross, which was founded in honor of Adam Petty.

According to its website, the camp opened its gates in 2004 and is dedicated to “enriching the lives of children with serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering, at no cost to children or their families”. By 2015 the camp had served over 13,000 children with conditions ranging from bleeding disorders, diabetes, sickle cell anemia, and physical disabilities.

“The Asheboro Copperheads are more than proud to team with Pinnacle Bank to sponsor Victory Junction Night at McCrary Park. Victory Junction is an incredible organization that allows children and their families to experience a wonderful camping experience,” said Dennis Garcia, General Manager of the Asheboro Copperheads. “This community, as it always does, came out and supported the event impressively and we were proud to raise money for a very worthy cause.”

Through auctioning off the jerseys off and donations from supporters the camp was able to raise a total of $13,520.85. If you missed the game and would like to support Victory Junction you can give the gift of camp by donating on their website. The Copperheads went on to win the game 5 to 0.
