The public is invited to join ceramic artist Eamon Rogers on Friday, February 9 at 5:30pm for the opening reception of a new exhibition titled “Accumulation”. The exhibit will run through March 23 with pieces available for purchase through the School House Gallery at Starworks. Rogers’ will be on hand for the opening reception to meet guests and discuss their work.
This is a free event and open to all ages. Guests can enjoy light refreshments during the reception. A cash bar will be on site. The opening reception is followed by karaoke in the Starworks Café & Taproom, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Eamon Rogers is a ceramic artist living in central North Carolina. He studied ceramics as an undergraduate at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where connections between local materials, landscape, and historical pottery guided his work. He came to North Carolina in 2019 to learn more about its pottery traditions and methods while apprenticing for North Carolina artist Joseph Sand. Since completing his apprenticeship in 2021, he has worked as a clay factory intern at Starworks. As an intern, Eamon researched new ways of using our North Carolina clays and materials, developing a body of work using terra sigillata made from wild clay sources. In his spare time, he’s is cyclist and uses his time riding in the hills and woods to find new inspiration in his work.
“Accumulation” will be on display at the School House Gallery at Starworks, February 9 through March 23, 2024. Operating hours for the gallery are Monday-Saturday 9am- 5pm. An opening reception Friday, February 9 at 5:30pm is free & open to the public.
