Chemical Spill and Fire at Energizer Plant 2 Triggers Evacuation / Fire Response

[Scott Pelkey | North State Journal] ASHEBORO N.C. – A fire and chemical spill at Energizer Plant 2 triggered an evacuation of the plant and a large response from the Asheboro and Randleman Fire Departments on Wednesday evening. On Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, at 4:47 p.m. Asheboro Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm at Energizer Plant 2, located at 419 Art Bryan Dr, in Asheboro. While Asheboro Fire units were enroute the fire alarm was upgraded to a commercial fire and fire crews from Randleman Fire Department were added to the response. Asheboro Fire Responds to Vehicle Fire at Energizer Plant 1

Firefighters put out a vehicle fire at Energizer Plant 1's employee parking on Aug 25th, 2023. [Scott Pelkey | North State Journal] ASHEBORO N.C. - Asheboro Firefighters are on the scene of a vehicle fire in the employee parking lot at Energizer Plant #1 that triggered an evacuation of the plant after the fire alarm was triggered. At around 6 p.m. on Friday Aug 25th, 2023, Firefighters with Asheboro Fire/Rescue responded to Energizer Plant #1, located at 800 Albemarle Rd, for a vehicle fire in the employee parking. The fire alarm at the plant was triggered and employees were evacuating as firefighters worked to extinguish the vehicle fire. [Scott Pelkey | North State Journal] ASHEBORO N.C. - Today we are learning details about what led to customers across Randolph County losing power, internet, and cell service Tuesday. On April 4th, 2023, at 1pm, Randolph County Emergency Services dispatched Asheboro Fire/Rescue to a utility call on Albemarle Rd.
