Road Construction Coming Soon As DOT Awards Repair Contracts
ASHEBORO NC - With spring well underway in North Carolina, nice weather brings with it the things North Carolinaians dred, pollen and road construction.
According to a press release by NCDOT, they have awarded 4 contracts to repair 70 miles of roadways in central North Carolina, with many of those repairs here in Randolph County.
The projects call for milling and resurfacing and in most locations shoulder grading or reconstruction. They are all either getting underway or set to begin as early as May 1.
The contracts for Randolph County are:
23.4 miles along seven sections of U.S. 64 and eight sections of secondary roads. The $4.45 million contract was awarded to the Thompson Arthur division of APAC Atlantic Inc. Work is slated to last through July 2022.Nearly 19 miles a...
