ASHEBORO NC (ACME NEWS) – Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a backyard of an Asheboro home earlier this weekend.
According to a statement by the Asheboro Police Department, on Sunday, July 4th, 2021 at 3:15 PM, officers with the Department’s Patrol Division were dispatched to 1214 Uwharrie Street for a call about an unknown medical situation. The officers found a white male laying on his back in the back yard of the residence. Officers inspected the body and couldn’t locate any signs of life. The male was pronounced deceased by Randolph County EMS. That male was identified as Verlin Lynn Powers, 29-year-old white/male from Thomasville, NC.
