National Weather Service Calls For Thunderstorms This Weekend

ASHEBORO N.C. – The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma is calling for thunderstorms across all of North Carolina over the weekend.

According to forecasters a stalled offshore low pressure system will finally begin to move inland bringing showers and thunderstorms across all of North Carolina over the weekend. A cold front system is expected to follow the low pressure system moving though the area on Monday, also bringing with it a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. Currently none of the storms are expected to be severe, but citizens should stay #WeatherAware over the next several days as the situation changes
