Asheboro Police Investigating After Man Shot In Foot

ASHEBORO N.C. – Police are working to understand what led to a shooting last night in Asheboro that left a local man shot in the foot.

On August 5th, 2022, at approximately 2am, patrol officers with the Asheboro Police Department were dispatched to a mobile home on Walnut Street, in reference to a gunshot wound. According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department this morning, when officers arrived and entered the residence they located one white male victim, identified as Randal Clay Allred, with a gunshot wound to his right foot. Officers rendered aid to the victim, and he was transported by Randolph County EMS to a local medical facility.

Police say preliminary information obtained on-scene indicates there was a struggle inside the residence before the victim was shot. The investigation is on-going, and detectives are still working to identify, and speak with, numerous individuals that were inside the residence when the shooting occurred.
