Two Found Dead after Asheboro Shooting

ASHEBORO N.C. – Two people were found dead at an Asheboro home this afternoon after officers responded to a call for a shooting according to Police.

On September 26th, 2022, just after 1pm officers from the Asheboro Police Department’s Patrol Division were dispatched to 337 Hamlin Street Asheboro in reference to a shooting. According to a press release from the Police Department, when officers arrived, they located two victims deceased.

  • Fatima Anne Alston, 68-year-old female, of Asheboro.
  • Tiona Rena Sesmas, 33-year-old female, of Asheboro.

Officers at the scene requested Charles W. McCrary Elementary School be placed on lockdown due to its proximity to the scene however, the lockdown was lifted after officers determined there were no additional threats to the community.

Preliminary information indicates there is not a suspect at-large. This case is being investigated by
the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Should anyone have additional information they are
