Driver Overdoses Crashes into Yard in Asheboro

ASHEBORO N.C. – Police say they arrested an Asheboro man who while driving under the influence overdosed and crashed into a yard yesterday morning.

According to a police report from the Asheboro Police Department on Nov 14th, 2022, at around 3:30am officers were called to a vehicle accident on N Main St in Asheboro. When they arrived, they located the vehicle on top of a rock wall in the yard of a home.

Police say the suspect appeared to be overdosing and was given several doses of Narcan. The driver, whom police identified as 28-year-old David M Davis of Asheboro, was transported to a local medical facility.

Police later arrested Davis and charged him with Possession of Herion, Driving while Impaired, and Driving Left of Center. He was also cited for driving with a revoked driver’s license. Davis appeared in Randolph County District Court the same day and is currently confined at the Randolph County Jail.
