ASHEBORO N.C. – Local firefighters from several local departments are conducting live fire training today in Asheboro resulting in heavy smoke being seen in the area.
A notice posted on Westside Fire & Rescue’s Facebook page indicates that along with mutual aid departments, fire crews will be conducting live fire training evolutions at 115 McMaster Street in Asheboro, NC, beginning around 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

Subject: Public Notice of Live Fire Training

The purpose of this post is to inform the public that members of Westside Fire & Rescue and along with mutual aid departments will be conducting live fire training evolutions at 115 McMaster Street in Asheboro, NC beginning around 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2023. The training evolutions conducted will be conducted according to NFPA 1403 (The National Fire Protection Administration standard for live fire training.)
During the training citizens could expect to see smoke, flames, and a large first responder presence in the area of McMaster Street. The purpose of this post is to notify the general public of the live fire training being conducted to satisfy NFPA 1403 and avoid causing public panic.
