ASHEBORO N.C. – The Ulah Vol. Fire Department will be going live on Facebook in a few hours ahead of premiering its first YouTube video tonight at 7 p.m.

This month the Ulah Vol. Fire Department began posting short videos on its Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok social media accounts. Those videos, which the department says they plan to continue in the future, are a mix of humor, engagement, and information.

On February 9th, 2024, the Ulah Vol Fire Department announced on Facebook that they would be premiering their first YouTube video Tonight, Friday February 16th, 2024, releasing the following teaser.

The video tonight, described as a short 2–3-minute motivational video, is about volunteering, shedding light on the current volunteer firefighter shortage, and how members of the community can help. “We need our community just as much as our community needs us,” says Kristen Jensen, Volunteer Services Coordinator with the Ulah Vol. Fire Department.

According to data collected by Randolph News Now, one in four volunteers across five different departments in Randolph County, from 2018 to 2023, chose to depart, leading to a detrimental impacts at each of those departments and the county as a whole.

The department plans to go live on Facebook at 6:15 p.m. to answer any questions ahead of the video’s premier. You can view the video at 7 p.m. on the department’s YouTube channel.
