ASHEBORO N.C. —  A local man was arrested last week after threating police in a live video posted to social media led to an investigation. On March 26th, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault in progress on U.S. Hwy 64 East in Ramseur. According to a press release, deputies encountered Dominick Lynn Sloan, who threatened to harm law enforcement with a weapon as they were returning to their vehicles, while livestreaming on social media. Dominick Lynn Sloan Investigators were also able to obtain a search warrant for the property due to a protective order issued earlier in March which prevented Sloan from possessing firearms and ammunition. On the afternoon of April 14th, Barry Poff, who has 34 years and more than 3 million miles under his belt had just finished a delivery in Randleman and was heading South on I-73/74 to his next delivery. As he crossed the Randleman Lake bridge a bird flew in front of the truck and dropped a rather large fish which smacked right into the truck's windshield.
