Four Arrested in Connection with Armed Robbery on NC Hwy 134

ASHEBORO N.C. – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says four people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery on NC Hwy 134 last month.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, on November 26th, 2023, deputies responded to a reported robbery on NC Hwy 134, in Asheboro.

The victim told investigators that he was asked by someone he knew to meet in the parking lot of a business and that when he arrived, he was robbed by two males and two females. The victim also reported that one of the male suspects fired a single round from a handgun at him during the robbery.

The investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sherriff’s Office identified Cassidy Ann Black, and Dustin Scott Marion as suspects, according to a press release. Detectives were able to establish probable cause to a magistrate and obtained warrants for felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.

With assistance from the NC SBI and Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Black and Marion were apprehended in Lee County on November 27th, 2023, and transported to the Randolph County Jail. They were served their warrants with Black receiving a $200,000 secured bond and Marion receiving a $250,000 secured bond. A first appearance for both is scheduled for December 19th, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.

With two suspects in custody investigators were able to identify Brittany Alee Hoskins and David Kyle Bennett as the final two suspects.  

Hoskins was apprehended in Randleman by the Criminal Investigations Division on November 28, 2023, and charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. No bond was given due to the Pre-Trial Integrity Act and a first appearance was set for November 29, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.

Bennett turned himself into the Randolph County Detention Center on December 2nd and was charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill. No bond was given due to the Pre-Trial Integrity Act and a first appearance was set for December 4, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
