he Wall That Heals Coming To Asheboro, NC
The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC along with a mobile Education Center, is coming to Asheboro! The Wall contains the names of 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. The Wall stops at approximately 30 locations every year and this will be the only stop in North Carolina. This is a free exhibit hosted by Randolph County Veteran Services.
The Wall will be here from June 18 to June 23. The Wall arrives on June 18 at South Asheboro Middle School. This ride will be escorted in by the American Legion Riders, Combat Veteran Riders, AmVet Riders and more. The organizers anticipate 200 motorcycles involved in the escort as well as a parade of antique cars.
The Wall That Heals will be assembled on June 19 and will be open to the public that evening until June 23 at 2pm. Volunteers are needed with setup, disassemble, welcome guests to the wall to help them locate their loved ones, or just available for questions.
