Nearly 30,000 Fentanyl Pills Seized in Search Warrant

TRINITY N.C. - A search warrant issued as a part of a joint investigation located nearly 30,000 Fentanyl pills at a home in Trinity and landed one person in jail. On August 9th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Unit and Criminal Interdiction Team, Asheboro Police Department’s Vice Unit, and the Department of Homeland Security's Investigation division (HSI), executed a search warrant on a residence located at 6503 Bellawood Dr. in Trinity. According to a press release, that search located approximately 28,400 Fentanyl pills that weighed approximately 12.5 pounds, along with U.S. Currency. As a result, Robert Gurung was arrested and transported to Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause for the multiple felony drug and trafficking charges. ...

One Airlifted After Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian on E Dixie Dr

On Friday, July 28th, 2023, at around 7:30 pm, emergency crews were called to the scene of a vehicle collision where a pedestrian was struck on E Dixie Dr near Zaxby's. According to an accident report from the Asheboro Police Department, a 2005 Nissan SUV was traveling west on E Dixie Dr near Executive Way when a pedestrian stepped into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. TRINITY N.C. - A man who fired a gun at a residence after an argument and then lead police on a high-speed pursuit was arrested over the weekend according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. On July 23, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Thayer Rd., Trinity, in reference to an armed person who had fired a gun at a residence following an altercation. While deputies were responding, the caller told 9-1-1 the suspect had left and returned. K9 Locates Wanted Suspect Who Fled in Crawlspace of Home

ASHEBORO N.C. - Charges are stacking up against a suspect with several active warrants who fled on foot from deputies and was located hiding in a crawlspace by a police K9. According to a press release, on July 13th, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Detective in the area of Erect Rd., Seagrove, observed a male subject acting suspicious. Sheriff’s Office Charges Two Dog Owners with Felony Animal Cruelty

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has charged two individuals with nine counts of felony cruelty to animals after Animal Services allegedly found malnourished and dead dogs on their property. According to a press release by the Sheriff's Office, On July 12th, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office responded to assist Randolph County Animal Services who had responded to a call about an aggressive dog on Searcy Rd. Ext, in Seagrove. Animal Control Officer had located abandoned and malnourished dogs outside of the home; two of which were deceased.
