Liberty Police Facebook Page Gets ‘Depublished’ Without Warning

Photo by Brett Jordan on Unsplash ASHEBORO NC – The Liberty Police Department recently found that Facebook had “depublished” the Departments page on the social media site, and they still are not sure why, or if they will get it back. The Town of Liberty announced the news on their Facebook page on Wednesday October 13th 2021. The post said that Facebook removed the page for “violation of community standards” and that Facebook has “refused to tell the Police Department exactly why the page had been depublished”. ASHEBORO NC – The Randolph County Public Health announced today that they are now scheduling booster appointments for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The department is following the CDC guidelines which recommends vaccine boosters for the following groups. Individuals 65 years and older or residents in long-term care settingsIndividuals aged 50-64 with certain underlying conditionsIndividuals aged 18-49 with certain underlying conditionsIndividuals aged 18-64 at high risk to COVID-19 exposure due to occupational or institutional setting The Pfizer single booster vaccine has to be given at least six months after the second dose. On May 22nd, 2021 we reported that the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) had confirmed they had opened an investigation into allegations of misconduct made against Sheriff Seabolt. The investigation was requested on May 5th by Randolph County District Attorney Andy Gregson. Gregson said he received complaints that Sherriff Seabolt was using a county-issued vehicle to haul campaign signs. ASHEBORO NC – Police are saying that “Unsafe Footwear” is to blame after an elderly driver lost control, drove through the lawn next to the historic courthouse, before crashing into a stairwell. On August 25th, just after 2 PM, emergency crews were called to 145 Worth St in Asheboro near the historic courthouse for a report of a vehicle that had hit the building. When they arrived, they found a 2014 Toyota SUV with its airbags deployed wedged in the stairwell next to the courthouse. According to an accident report by the Asheboro Police Department the driver told police she was attempting to park on Worth St when her open toed shoe got caught on the accelerator. ASHEBORO NC - Tuesday and Wednesday are setting up to be a wet one, thanks to Tropical Storm Fred who’s heading our way. What remains of Tropical Storm Fred will slowly move through the southeastern part of NC on Tuesday. Fred will bring with it heavy rains up in the mountains, but in the Piedmont we are only expecting a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. Rain and winds may be heavy at times with some possibility of localized severe storms and flooding. ASHEBORO NC – Last week the NC shared the sad news of the loss of two of its animals. Paco On Aug 11th 2021, the NC Zoo announced on Facebook the passing of Paco the harbor seal. The cause of death had not yet been determined not yet determined, but the post shared to Facebook noted Paco did have a large lung mass. Paco lived at the NC Zoo’s Rocky Coast exhibit for 13 years. ASHEBORO NC – the list of incentives is growing for anyone hasn't gotten their first COVID-19 vaccine, Randolph County Public Health announced they will be giving out a limited number of $25 Summer Cash Cards, starting on August 5th. UPDATE: On August 4th Randolph County Public Health announced that the amount of the Summer cash cards being offered has been increased from $25 to $100. Randolph County 911 says on July 20th, 2021 at 10:23 PM they received the first call about the incident on US Hwy 421 at Exit NC 49 and dispatched fire and EMS units to the scene The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was also dispatched, and NC State Highway Patrol (NCSHP)was notified. The North Carolina Dept of Transportation closed both lanes of US HWY 421 at 12:35 PM as the Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division Detectives along with the NCSHP began the investigation.
