Asheboro 9/11 Memorial Ruck

In 2016, a small group of Asheboro firefighters came together for a 9.11 mile ruck to remember the fallen from September 11, 2001.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 9th. We are happy to be able to invite participants from outside of AFD to join as we remember those lost on 9/11.
The event begins and ends at AFD Station 1, following a 9.11 mile route around the city. A ruck is traditionally performed with a weighted pack, however SCBA or plate carriers may also be used. You may also simply walk with no additional weight.
Parking is limited at Station 1. Additional parking is available in the lots on Church St, between the Academy St. and Hill St. intersections.
Open to the public. (Bring your own weighted pack (backpack or SCBA) or vest.)
