Asheboro City Schools leadership plans to celebrate the completion of the renovation project at Asheboro High School with an Open House featuring tours of the building on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 2-5 pm.
Construction of the current Asheboro High School on Park Street began in 1949 and opened for students beginning with the 1950-1951 school year. The current renovations preserve key historical elements of the building and feature upgraded finishes, technology, heating and cooling, safety, accessibility, and furniture. The building also features a 37,670 sq ft addition with fourteen new classrooms finished and dedicated in September 2020. The $55 million addition and renovation were possible because of the generous support from the Randolph County Commissioners. Their support allowed for the creation of a state-of-the-art learning facility with new and fully renovated classroom spaces, a multi-purpose commons area, expanded space for our cultural arts programs, and increased capacity needs.
