ASHEBORO N.C. - On October 5th, 2022, Randolph County Government will be sponsoring its 13th annual armed Services Blood Drive to support the military. The blood drive will be held from 11:00 am through 6:00 pm at the National Guard Armory located at 1430 S. Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC. Blood donated directly to the Armed Services Blood Program equates to fewer units the military has to purchase from an outside source. Yes, “purchase.” Other sources of blood are sold to agencies that need the supply, including to the military. Donations will support deployed military, Womack Army Medical Center, and other military treatmentfacilities within the Department of Defense. ASHEBORO N.C. - This month's Friday Night Bluegrass will be taking place later this week on Friday, August 19th with the return of Never Too Late. Tickets for this performance are $8.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door. There will be no will call available. Advance tickets are available at the Asheboro Cultural & Recreation Services office located across the street from the Theatre at 241 Sunset Avenue. (ARCOC) – The Asheboro Rotary Club and the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce are joining together again to present the Field of Honor during Veteran’s Day weekend this year. From Friday, November 11, through Sunday, November 13, the baseball field at South Asheboro Middle School will be transformed into the Field of Honor with U.S. flags posted in perfect rows and columns in tribute of heroes. The public will be able to sponsor flags in recognition of their heroes, including veterans, active-duty service men and women, first responders, and any personal heroes. More information about buying flags, the opening and closing ceremonies, and sponsorships will be provided in the coming weeks.

ASHEBORO N.C. - The town of Franklinville has a date set for this years trunk-or-treat and they are asking for help from the community securing, the trunks, candy, and food trucks. In a post on Facebook on July 14th 2022, the town announced that the 2022 Trunk or Treat will be held at Riverside Park on Monday, October 31st from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Officials are asking for help from the community, "We need as many trunks/candy as possible. Please bring your ”trunk” and help us give out candy! Youth Golf Lessons The lessons are open to any youth golfer between 6 and 14 years of age. Participants will be able to choose between two sessions. Session one will be held June 16th, 22nd and 23rd Session two will take place on July 12th, 19th and 21st. Lessons are offered from 8:00am - 9:30am each day. ASHEBORO N.C. (RCPH) - Local participating Randolph County Veterinarians and the Randolph County Public Health are  sponsoring a special Quarterly Rabies Clinic. Rabies vaccinations will be available for your pets on  Tuesday, March 29, 2022. The clinic will be held during regular business hours at the offices of the  participating veterinarians. The cost is only $10.00 per dog or cat.  The best way to protect your pet and family is to have your pet vaccinated. Puppies and kittens should  receive their first rabies shot at 4 months, the second at 16 months, and then every three years  thereafter.
