This morning at around 10 a.m. emergency crews from Guil-Rand and Sophia Fire Departments along with Randolph County EMS responded to I-74 E near Cedar Square Rd for a report of a vehicle off the roadway. According to a post on Facebook by Guil-Rand Fire Department, crews arrived to find a rollover accident down an embankment involving three patients. [Scott Pelkey | North State Journal] ASHEBORO N.C. - One person was airlifted with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on E Dixie Dr last Friday. On Friday, July 28th, 2023, at around 7:30 pm, emergency crews were called to the scene of a vehicle collision where a pedestrian was struck on E Dixie Dr near Zaxby's. According to an accident report from the Asheboro Police Department, a 2005 Nissan SUV was traveling west on E Dixie Dr near Executive Way when a pedestrian stepped into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. The 28-year-old male victim sustained serious injuries and was transported by the scene by Randolph County EMS to the helipad at Randolph Hospital where they were air-lifted by Baptist AirCare to a local trauma center. At 9:11 a.m. on Friday, February 10th, 2023, emergency crews from East Side Fire Dept, Franklinville Fire Dept, Ash-Rand Rescue, Randolph County EMS, and Sheriff's Office along with Troppers from the NC Highway Patrol responded to the report of a crash that occurred on NC 42 near Hayfield Drive. ASHEBORO NC - A mother and son are in jail today after police say a confrontation over stolen items led to a shooting in Thomasville. According to the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on June 26th, 2021, at around 10:40 pm, deputies responded to a report of an assault on Stonehenge Road in Thomasville. When they arrived they found a gunshot victim lying in the road on Fuller Mill Road. That victim, who has not been identified, was airlifted from the scene in critical condition. The Sheriff's Office says they opened an investigation where they say they discovered that Elva Hughes Skipper and Steven Craig Skipper had gone to the victim’s home to confront him about stealing items. On April 29th, 2021, at around 3:30 PM, first responders were called to a home on Miles Moffitt Rd. in Asheboro. Radio traffic from Randolph county 911 reported a three-year-old had been struck by a vehicle. Information later released by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office said the child was accidentally injured when an "inexperienced individual was moving a vehicle in the yard and the vehicle made contact with the child before eventually came to a stop after hitting the house causing structural damage."
