Man Indicted In Connection With 2020 Standoff with Police

ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man who shot at officers during a standoff in Liberty back in 2020 has been indicted by a Grand Jury and is facing multiple charges including Felony Attempted Murder. On September 13, 2020, deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office along with officers from the Liberty Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 49 N, just outside the Liberty city limits, regarding a domestic call and shots were fired inside the residence. The suspect, Robert Dwight Bender, had retreated into a structure behind the residence and the caller was safely removed from the house. Asheboro Police Announce Arrest in Millikan Ave Shooting

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Asheboro Police Department has announced today that they have charged four individuals in connection with the shooting of a 17 year-old on Millikan Ave back on March 19th 2022. In a press release sent out today, the Asheboro Police Department announced that on the March 29th 2022 Detective L. Johnson with the Asheboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division secured charges on four individuals for the shooting of a 17 year-old juvenile which occurred back on March 19th 2022 on Millikan Avenue in Asheboro. Man Facing Attempted Murder Charges After Stabbing

ASHEBORO N.C. —A domestic disturbance that started when a Winston-Salem man man rammed another car and stabbed another male ended with him in jail facing attempted murder charges. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says Wednesday night at approximately 9:00 pm, deputies were called to what started out as a vehicle accident where a car had struck a pedestrian on Loflin Hill Road in Trinity. That quickly changed to a domestic situation where one person was armed with a knife. Mother & Son Arrested For Attempted Murder

ASHEBORO NC - A mother and son are in jail today after police say a confrontation over stolen items led to a shooting in Thomasville. According to the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on June 26th, 2021, at around 10:40 pm, deputies responded to a report of an assault on Stonehenge Road in Thomasville. When they arrived they found a gunshot victim lying in the road on Fuller Mill Road. That victim, who has not been identified, was airlifted from the scene in critical condition. The Sheriff's Office says they opened an investigation where they say they discovered that Elva Hughes Skipper and Steven Craig Skipper had gone to the victim’s home to confront him about stealing items. Man Accused Of Shooting At Stripper In FL Arrested In Randolph Co.

ASHEBORO NC- A Brooklyn man accused of shooting at a stripper in Miami Beach and stealing a car in Maryland was arrested on a traffic stop in Randolph County on Monday. Tremain Christopher Weekes According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on May 3, 2021, the Highway Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on I-85 in Archdale. The driver, Tremain Christopher Weekes of Brooklyn NY, was wanted out of Florida for Failure to Appear for Attempted Murder. The attempted murder charge stems from an incident on October 8th, 2020, in Miami Beach.
