Two Arrested for Stealing from Store, Drive by Shooting in Front of Police
ASHEBORO N.C. - Two adult suspects who allegedly stole from a local convince store and later conducted a drive by shooting in front of two police officers, were arrested last week according to police reports.
On Tuesday July 18th, 2023, at around 9:30 pm, police were notified of a larceny at the Quik Chek store on Sunset Ave in Asheboro.
Before the police could respond, two officers working an off-duty detail at Coleridge Apartments called in shots fired after witnessing an individual hanging out of the window firing a pistol towards Kemp Blvd, according to a police report.
Officers raced to the area and according to a police report the driver of the vehicle attempted to evade police by turning off the lights of the car lights and passing other vehicles.
