ASHEBORO N.C. - This month's Friday Night Bluegrass will be taking place later this week on Friday, August 19th with the return of Never Too Late. Tickets for this performance are $8.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door. There will be no will call available. Advance tickets are available at the Asheboro Cultural & Recreation Services office located across the street from the Theatre at 241 Sunset Avenue. For more information please call the Cultural & Recreation Services office at (336) 626-1240. Concert begins at 7:00pm. The Sunset Theatre, located at 234 Sunset Avenue in downtown Asheboro. Not completely sure how to play or keep score – don’t worry. We will go over all the rules and provide all of the needed equipment. The local league is available for men and women with the only restriction being that all participants need to be 50 years old or greater. Partners can be comprised of two males, two females or one male and one female. This league will take place on Tuesday mornings during the months of July and August. Asheboro Announces First “Gifting Tree Project”

ASHEBORO, NC – Asheboro's Cultural & Recreation Services announced they will be holding the 1st annual Asheboro Gifting Tree Project. "Stroll through Bicentennial Park as it is transformed into a dazzling Christmas tree display. Local businesses, religious organizations, non-profits, schools, service clubs, and individuals/families decorate their tree in a competition to win a donation (provided by Modern Toyota) to the nonprofit group of their choice" said Cultural & Recreation Services in a press release. If you want to participate the entry fee is $45 and includes one Christmas tree with stand (approximately 6-7 feet tall), an assigned space in Bicentennial Park, and a printed sign indicating the name of your family, school, or organization.
