ASHEBORO N.C. - The third Monday of January each year the nation looks back at the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his work advocating for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement to protest racial discrimination in federal and state law. This year the federal holiday falls on January 15th, here is a list of events happening in Randolph County. ASHEBORO N.C. - Tickets are going fast for upcoming Christmas events being hosted by the City of Asheboro including the Christmas CAROL-ing Trolley Tour and the Bantum Rooster's Rockin' Christmas Concert. Christmas CAROLing Trolley Tour Chick-fil-A and Asheboro Cultural & Recreation Services wants to get you in the holiday spirit with the Christmas CAROLing Trolley Tour! This event features a retelling of the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol” while singing carols, enjoying games and touring the lights and sights of the downtown Asheboro area onboard our climate controlled Christmas Trolley! ASHEBORO N.C. - On October 5th, 2022, Randolph County Government will be sponsoring its 13th annual armed Services Blood Drive to support the military. The blood drive will be held from 11:00 am through 6:00 pm at the National Guard Armory located at 1430 S. Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC. Blood donated directly to the Armed Services Blood Program equates to fewer units the military has to purchase from an outside source. Yes, “purchase.” Other sources of blood are sold to agencies that need the supply, including to the military. Donations will support deployed military, Womack Army Medical Center, and other military treatmentfacilities within the Department of Defense. The North Carolina Zoo will host their annual Halloween event “Boo at the NC Zoo” two weekends in October this year. Boo will be held Saturdays and Sundays on Oct. 16, 17, 23, and 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all days. Boo at the NC Zoo is a family-friendly daytime event and socially distanced for everyone's fun and safety. There will be trick-or-treating at stations throughout the park, a souvenir bag, live entertainment, animal encounters, Halloween-themed photos, and costume contests.
