At around 2pm on Saturday June 10th, 2023, emergency crews responded to a report of a 2-vehicle crash in front of the McDonalds at 1436 N Fayetteville St, in Asheboro, N.C. According to an accident report by the Asheboro Police Department, Ashley Renee Phillips was attempting to make a left hand turn out of the parking lot of McDonalds onto N Fayetteville St (US 220 Bus) but failed to yield for an oncoming motorcycle. FRANKLINVILLE N.C. - A head on collision on US 64 claimed the life of a Franklinville resident on Wednesday afternoon. Just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, emergency crews responded to a vehicle crash on US 64 near Iron Mountain Road. According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Wanda Cox Allred, 74, of Franklinville, N.C., was traveling west on US 64 operating a 2019 Honda CR-V when a driver of a 2006 Mercedes Benz crossed the centerline, striking her vehicle head-on. At 11:20 a.m. on Monday, March 6th, 2023, the State Highway Patrol responded to the report of a crash that occurred on NC 134 at Center Cross Church Road. Troopers say 58-year-old Balvantbh Thakorbhai Patel, of McLeansville, N.C., was traveling west on Center Cross Church Road in a 2021 Toyota Highlander. Patel failed to stop at the intersection at NC134 and was struck by a truck-tractor, pulling a semi-trailer. Patel died on-scene. ASHEBORO N.C. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver attempting to pass another car early this morning. According to a press release from the N.C. Highway Patrol, at 5:38 am, On Monday, February 6th, 2023, Troopers responded to a crash that occurred on Prospect Street near Turnpike Road in Randolph County. Troopers say that Dredrick Shavonte Cooper, 32, of Thomasville, N.C., was traveling north on Prospect Street operating a 2000 Lincoln LS passenger vehicle. Joseph Kennth Rowbottom, 49, of Archdale, N.C., was a pedestrian walking north on the southbound shoulder of Prospect Street. ASHEBORO N.C. - An elderly pedestrian walking along US 220 in Randleman last night when he was fatally struck by a vehicle in an accident. According to a press release from the NC State Highway Patrol, at 10:07 pm on Thursday, December 15th, 2022, troopers responded to the report of a crash that occurred on US 220 Business near New Salem Road in Randolph County. Glenn Chriscoe, 83, of Randleman, NC, was traveling as a pedestrian, north on US 220 Business. A driver was traveling north on US 220 Business in a 2016 Nissan Altima. That driver struck Chriscoe in the roadway. Chriscoe died on-scene, the driver was uninjured during the collision. ASHEBORO N.C. - A vehicle accident yesterday evening in Randleman on US 220 Business left one dead. On December 11, 2022, at approximately 6:24 p.m., officers with the Randleman Police Department responded to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on US 220 Business N near Sibbett Street. The pedestrian, Christopher Dale Hicks, 38, of Randleman, was struck by a 2014 Honda CR-V. According to a press release from the Randleman Police Department, the driver was traveling south on US 220 Business when Hicks walked into the roadway and was struck by Dobbins’ vehicle. Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene. No Charges will be filed.

At 10:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 7th, 2022, the State Highway Patrol responded to the report of a crash that occurred on Bell Simmons Road near US 220 Business in Randolph County. According to Master Trooper Brian Martin, Troop D Public Information Officer, 69-year-old Michael Ray Cranford of Asheboro, N.C., was traveling west on Bell Simmons Road in a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero SUV. Cranford traveled off the road to the left and struck a tree when Cranford’s vehicle caught fire. Cranford was unrestrained and ejected during the collision and later died on scene. Randolph County 911 says on July 20th, 2021 at 10:23 PM they received the first call about the incident on US Hwy 421 at Exit NC 49 and dispatched fire and EMS units to the scene The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was also dispatched, and NC State Highway Patrol (NCSHP)was notified. ASHEBORO NC - A Trinity man was struck and killed on Hwy 62 Monday. According to the NC Highway Patrol at 10:23 AM on Monday, March 15th, 2021, Troopers responded to the report of a crash on N.C. Highway 62 near Colonial Circle in Trinity. Tyler Lee Gray, 30, of Trinity NC, had parked his 2007 Honda pickup towing a utility trailer on the westbound shoulder of Hwy 62, partially in the roadway. Gray and was outside of his vehicle. Lawrence Edward Walker, 80, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., was traveling west in a 2019 Ford SUV. When Walker attempted to pass Gray he was forced to swerve back into the westbound lane due to an oncoming eastbound vehicle and collided with Gray. Gray died at the scene. Walker was not injured, and charges are pending.
