Kidnapped Child in Asheboro Located, Suspect Arrested
ASHEBORO N.C. - The AMBER Alert for a kidnapped 9-year-old from Asheboro has been canceled after the child was located unharmed and the suspect arrested.
According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department, at approximately 6:38 am this morning, officers responded to a home on Powhatan Avenue in Asheboro, for a report of a kidnapping.
A grandmother reported to police that Darrell Milton Boyd Jr. had entered the residence and left with her 9-year-old granddaughter.
An AMBER Alert was issued, and an arrest warrant was issued for Boyd.
At approximately 10:00 am, officers received information indicating that Boyd was possibly in the area of Kiger Rd in Germanton, NC.
