ASHEBORO N.C. - The AMBER Alert for a kidnapped 9-year-old from Asheboro has been canceled after the child was located unharmed and the suspect arrested. According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department, at approximately 6:38 am this morning, officers responded to a home on Powhatan Avenue in Asheboro, for a report of a kidnapping. A grandmother reported to police that Darrell Milton Boyd Jr. had entered the residence and left with her 9-year-old granddaughter. An AMBER Alert was issued, and an arrest warrant was issued for Boyd. At approximately 10:00 am, officers received information indicating that Boyd was possibly in the area of Kiger Rd in Germanton, NC. ASHEBORO N.C. - Police say they arrested a driver found unconscious in a stolen vehicle sitting in traffic in Trinity last week. According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on May 21st, 2022, they responded to the intersection of Meadowbrook Dr. and NC-62 in Trinity, A 911 caller reported an unconscious driver in a vehicle blocking traffic. When a deputy arrived, they found a white SUV with an unconscious male in the driver seat. The deputy attempted to wake the driver up by knocking on the window but the driver, later identified as Raymond Henry O'Neal, was unresponsive so the deputy opened the driver side front door to evaluate him.
