ASHEBORO N.C. - Asheboro Police Officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit after trying to pull over a suspect they believe was connected to several vehicle break-ins at a local apartment complex last week. According to information from the Asheboro Police Department, officers were notified of several 911 calls reporting at least five vehicles broken into at Summers Run Apartments. Police say they were able to determine the suspect's vehicle. That vehicle, which had been reported stolen out of Greensboro, was spotted and sped away when officers attempted to pull it over on a traffic stop. ASHEBORO N.C. - Two children are safe after Asheboro Police issued an Amber Alert for a suspected kidnapping earlier tonight. On October 30th, 2022, at approximately 3:26 PM, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded a residence on Occoneechee Avenue, after a caller reported a kidnapping. According to a press release from Asheboro Police, officers responded and spoke to the complainant, who stated that her two year-old son, DeShawn Devonne Williams, and her four year-old daughter, Londyn Renee Williams, had been taken by their father and uncle. The children’s mother reported that the children were last seen leaving the home in a 2019 Dodge Durango displaying North Carolina registration JMY-3236.
