Police Investigating Vehicle Theft/Break-Ins at Asheboro Apartment Complex after Chase

ASHEBORO N.C. - Monday morning police responded to several break-ins of vehicles at a north Asheboro apartment complex including a stolen vehicle which led to a vehicle pursuit into Greensboro. If all that sounds familiar it's because the same thing happened late last year at and near the same apartment complex. Early Monday morning, just before 3am, officers with the Asheboro Police Department say they were responding to a report of a stolen vehicle at Mathew Grande Apartments, on N. Fayetteville Street in Asheboro. According to an official with the department, an officer spotted a suspicious vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Man Robbed at Knifepoint and Left on Interstate

On October 9th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to High Point St, in Randleman for a call about an armed robbery that had occurred on Interstate 73/74. When the police arrived, they located the victim who had obvious injuries. The victim told police that he was riding with a “friend” who he was allowing to drive his new vehicle. That "friend" was identified by the Sheriff's Office as "James David Marler". Suspect Charged In Connection To Armed Robbery Of Randleman Dollar General

Photo Courtesy Dollar General Corporate ASHEBORO N.C. - A joint investigation between the Asheboro Police Department, Randolph County Sheriff's Office and Guilford County Sheriff's office led to a suspect being arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies, including an armed robbery of the Randleman Dollar General. On February 15, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Dollar General on South Main Street in Randleman for an armed robbery. At the scene they collected evidence including using the description of the suspect and his vehicle provided by a 911 caller to issue a BOLO to all area law enforcement agencies. Convicted Felon Pulls Gun In Argument, Flees When 911 Called

ASHEBORO N.C. - A convicted felon is back in jail after brandishing a gun during an argument before fleeing the scene when 911 was called. On January 19, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a family fight on Kerr Drive, in Randleman. When deputies arrived they were told that Phillip Andrew Hess had come to the house and an argument ensued. During that argument police say that Hess was told to leave and refused before brandishing a firearm and verbally threatening the residents. The victim told police that when they called 911 Hess dropped the handgun and fled on foot. Responding deputies attempted to locate Hess but were unsuccessful.
