Small Creek (Stock Photo - MelissaMN/Adobe Stock) ASHEBORO N.C. - A call to check on a man attempting to start a fire in a bird bath led to a brief struggle with officers when police say the suspect threw a meth pipe into a creek before being arrested. On March 18th 2022, Officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to Glenwood Rd in reference to a welfare check on a male subject. Officers spoke with the homeowner who said there was a male subject standing by the creek on his property. According to a police report the homeowner told police he had asked the subject multiple times to leave the property and that the subject was attempting to start a fire in a bird bath.
