Human Remains Found In Randolph County Identified

ASHEBORO N.C. - Human remains found in Randolph County earlier this year have been identified as a missing 34 year-old Asheboro man.
Michael Dwayne Wilkerson, age 34, was last seen by family on September 15th, 2011, in the area of Burney Road and New Hope Church Road in Asheboro.. Police say they located a wrecked pickup truck that same day which had Wilkerson's cell phone in it but there was no one in or around the totaled truck. The Sheriff's Office says the last call made on that cell phone wasphone had been made about 2:30 am. A highway patrol trooper arrived on the several hours later at around 5:15 am after a passerby reported the wreck.
