Body Found in Submerged Vehicle Linked to Missing Person

[Scott Pelkey | Randolph News Now / North State Journal] ASHEBORO N.C. - A body found in a vehicle submerged upside down in a creek on Caraway Mountain Rd this morning has been identified as a missing person from Thomasville. According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 10:20 am this morning, a 911 caller reported a gray Nissan upside down in Caraway Creek on Caraway Mtn. Rd., near Conference Center Dr. Ash-Rand Rescue, Westside Fire Department, Randolph County EMS and Emergency Management all responded, and emergency crews were able to extricate the subject who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Human Remains found in Staley Linked to Missing Person

ASHEBORO N.C. - Human remains found in Staley earlier this month have been identified as a missing person from 2021. On February 8th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Shady Grove Church Rd. in Staley after receiving a call that a citizen had located human remains while walking in a wooded area. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, human remains along with identifying articles were recovered by investigators and sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. On February 14th, 2023, the State Medical Examiner’s Office made a positive identification to be those of Steven Tyler Tuttle. ASHEBORO N.C. - Family members, friends, and the Randolph County Sherriff's Office are asking for help from the public locating a missing person. Steven Tyler Tuttle, White/Male, 5’08” tall / 190 lbs, 32 years of age, Blue eyes, Brown short hair He was last seen on Monday, May 31, 2021, in the area of Hinshaw Country Rd. in Liberty, NC. He was last seen wearing (an unknown color) t-shirt and gym shorts, and unknown brand or color tennis shoes. Tuttle has a tattoo on his left hand. Missing Man Arrested After Assaulting Paramedic

ASHEBORO NC - - A paramedic had to be taken to the hospital for evaluation after being assaulted by a missing person Wednesday. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on March 10th, 2021, deputies were called to the area of Robbins Country Rd. in Trinity to check on someone.They located a man sitting on the front porch of the residence who was police say was apparently impaired by an unknown substance and unable to provide his name. Randolph County EMS responded to evaluate the subject. While EMS was providing medical care, the police say that the male subject assaulted a paramedic.
