ASHEBORO N.C. — A U.S. Army soldier stationed at Fort Liberty in North Carolina was arrested overnight at a local park in Asheboro, accused of engaging in sexual activity with a minor. Late on Wednesday March 20th, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a local park past curfew. According to a press release from the Department, officers found a male, later identified as 27-year-old Eric Timothy Fitch with a 13-year-old juvenile female in the vehicle along with evidence that Fitch had engaged in sexual activity with the female.
