ASHEBORO N.C. - One person was arrested in Trinity after a 911 caller reported a breaking and entering in progress and police arrived to find the suspect attempting to break into another home. On December 10, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Koonce Dr., in Trinity, for a call about a suspicious person. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, while enroute, another caller reported a breaking and entering in progress in the same area. The caller told officials that a white male subject had attempted to enter the residence, buildings, and had entered a vehicle. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced several charges against a local man related to an intentional fire set at a DMV office and deputies didn't have to go far to find him as he was already in jail accused of stealing a car. On November 24, 2022, at around 5 pm, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Office on US Hwy 220 Bus. S., Asheboro, after receiving a call about breaking & entering and larceny. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man who fled from house arrest almost a year ago, led Police in Asheboro on a foot chase before being arrested last week.  Jordan Lamar Billings placed on EHA with Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on July 29th, 2021, for multiple charges. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local woman is facing several charges after the Sheriff's Office says she pulled a gun on deputies attempting to perform a welfare check at the home last week. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on November 3rd, 2022, deputies responded to Low Bridge Rd., in Liberty, to conduct a welfare check of children following a domestic dispute. The Sheriff's Office says when deputies arrived a female, whom they identified as Melisa Ann Herriott, opened the front door of the residence, and simultaneously pointed a handgun directly at one of the deputies. On October 24th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release that their K-9 Unit had been nominated for the Aftermath K9 Grant. Aftermath Services describes itself as "the premier provider of trauma cleaning and biohazard remediation" on its website. The company's K9 Grant is making $15,000 available to law enforcement, EMS, or other public safety agencies for the creation, maintenance, or growth of a K9 unit. On October 9th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to High Point St, in Randleman for a call about an armed robbery that had occurred on Interstate 73/74. When the police arrived, they located the victim who had obvious injuries. The victim told police that he was riding with a “friend” who he was allowing to drive his new vehicle. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office is investigating what it believes to be a murder suicide that occurred overnight in Archdale. According to a press release, at around 4:55 am this morning, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Huff Rd., Archdale. The caller reported being onthe phone with a male subject living on Huff Rd., who was threatening to shoot himself. Thecaller reported hearing a gunshot and the conversation ended. When police arrived at the home no one responded, and deputies forced entry where they then located two male subjects in the residence. On October 8, 2022, at approximately 11:06 am, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a gunshot wound near the intersection of Roy Farlow Rd. and Archdale Rd. in Trinity.
