Eastern Randolph High School (Archive Photo / Acme News) RAMSEUR N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating after a firearm was seized from a student at Eastern Randolph High School this morning. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, on the morning of February 16th, 2024, it was reported to Eastern Randolph High School’s School Resource Officer that a juvenile student was on campus with a firearm on their person. The School Resource Officer located the juvenile and searched the juvenile locating a firearm, which was secured without incident and was determined to be unloaded. ASHEBORO N.C. - A registered sex offender has been arrested and charged after the Sheriff's Office was notified he had been on school grounds. On October 12th, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office SRO was notified that ChristopherTimothy Ward, a registered sex offender, had been on a school campus. Ward, who currently resides in Thomasville, was convicted in 2010 for two counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor. Under NC law certain registered sex offenders are prohibited from being in, at, or near certain places. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a registered sex offender who was on school grounds in Randolph County several times late last month. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, on September 26th, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office's Sex Offender Registry Detective was notified that Michael Delano Foster of Davidson County, a registered sex offender, had been on school grounds in Randolph County. According to the NC State Bureau of Investigations Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry, Foster was convicted in 2006 for two sexual offenses involving a minor under the age of thirteen in Guilford County. ASHEBORO N.C. - This month the Randolph County Sheriff's Office will be conducting 'Operation School Supplies' to fill law enforcement vehicles with school supplies for local students. Here's what you need to know. Starting August 21st and running through 25th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office will be collecting school supplies in front of the Asheboro Walmart from 9 am – 1 pm each day. Donations of pencils, pens, notebooks, paper, crayons, markers, calculators, erasers, binders, rulers, glue, and more are all needed to fill the law enforcement vehicle each day. If you would like to drop off supplies before those dates, you may do that at the front desk of either location of the Sheriff’s Office, located at 727 McDowell Rd., Asheboro, or their Archdale location at ...
