One Charged after Vehicle Chase End in Crash in Seagrove

SEAGROVE N.C. - One person was arrested after a short vehicle chase ended in a crash in Seagrove last week. According to J. Auman Chief of Police for the Seagrove Police Department, just after 2 p.m. on July 17th, 2023, while on patrol in the town, he ran a tag on a vehicle that came back as ficticious. Chief Auman says when he attempted to pull over the driver on Little River Road near Boone Farm Rd, the suspect failed to yield, leading to a brief vehicle pursuit. The chase ended after only around one mile when the driver lost control and crashed into an embankment while making a turn from Little River Rd on to Old Troy Rd. SEAGROVE N.C. - One person has been arrested in connection with the burglary of a business in Seagrove. On June 15, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in the Seagrove area where a business had been entered and property was taken. According to the Sheriff's Office, Detectives arrived on scene and were able to locate evidence, which led them to a residence on Borough Ave, in Seagrove. With the assistance of the Seagrove Police Department, Detectives approached the residence and spoke with the occupants which led to a search. That search found evidence of the burglary as well as the stolen property from the business. ASHEBORO N.C. - A search warrant at a home in Seagrove last month located drugs, cash and two guns and led to the arrest of one person who is now facing felony trafficking charges. On March 29, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Division concluded an investigation related to the distribution of narcotics in Randolph County. Detectives, along with the Criminal Interdiction Team and the Seagrove Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Auman St. in Seagrove, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office says their detectives located and seized a Trafficking amount of Cocaine (115.4 grams), Marijuana, US Currency and two firearms.
