Driver Seriously Injured in Crash that Shutdown I-73/74 Monday Night

ASHEBORO N.C.- A driver was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident on I-73/74 late Monday night that shutdown the interstate for nearly three hours.
Just after 10:30 p.m. Asheboro Fire/Rescue Department, Randolph County EMS, Asheboro Police, and the Randolph County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer on I-73/74 northbound, near the Sunset Ave exit.
The State Highway Patrol was also notified of the crash and Troopers responded to investigate.
In a press release, the Highway Patrol says that Abdelaleem Mustafa Alnagar, 23, of Colfax, N.C., was stopped on the northbound shoulder of I-73/74 in a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Alnagar attempted to mergeback onto the interstate but investigators say ...
