On a post on the Town's Facebook page on January 31st, 2023, officials say in the next week they will be installing speed bumps on Wright Street and Liberty Street (Coleridge Rd to Jordan Rd portion). "We hope this will control the issues of speeding on these Town Streets." says the post.

Track Repairs Causing Traffic Headaches In Asheboro

ASHEBORO NC [ARCHIVED] - Norfolk Southern began repairs on tracks through downtown Asheboro Monday. Crossings between Church St and Fayetteville St at Academy St, Wainman St, and Kivett St were closed on Monday and Tuesday. This work is part of Norfolk Southern’s annual maintenance program to ensure safe and efficient operations in the communities we serve, said Rachel Bradshaw a Manager Media Relations with the Norfolk Southern Corporation.  According to an e-mail from Bradshaw on Tuesday evening work is expected to be complete in the next day or two, depending on weather and unforeseen delays.
