At 5:57 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023, the State Highway Patrol responded to the report of a crash that occurred on US 220 Business at Industrial Park Avenue in Randolph County. An 18-year-old driver of a 2022 Honda Accord passenger vehicle was traveling north on US 220 Business when they attempted to make a left turn onto Industrial Park Avenue from US 220. Chase Logan Fritz, 24, of Asheboro, N.C., was traveling south on US 220 Business operating a 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle and collided with the turning vehicle in the intersection. Fritz died on-scene. Pedestrian Struck in Fatal Randleman Accident

ASHEBORO N.C. - A vehicle accident yesterday evening in Randleman on US 220 Business left one dead. On December 11, 2022, at approximately 6:24 p.m., officers with the Randleman Police Department responded to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on US 220 Business N near Sibbett Street. The pedestrian, Christopher Dale Hicks, 38, of Randleman, was struck by a 2014 Honda CR-V. According to a press release from the Randleman Police Department, the driver was traveling south on US 220 Business when Hicks walked into the roadway and was struck by Dobbins’ vehicle. Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene. No Charges will be filed.
