No Injuries, One Arrest in Friday night shooting, says Asheboro Police
ASHEBORO — No one was injured and one person was arrested after shots rang out in an Asheboro neighborhood last night.
According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department, on Friday May 24th, at around 7:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of S. Church St. and W. Wainman Ave. after receiving reports of an armed person and gunshots in the area.
9-1-1 callers and witnesses were able to provide a detailed description and location of the suspect and when officers arrived in the area, they say they observed the suspect running on W. Wainman Ave. behind a business.
After a short foot pursuit, officers arrested 18-year-old Kelvin Amad Cook, and recovered a Taurus 9mm handgun, according to the press release. Police also say they located six spent 9 mm shell casings ...
