Lock Your Cars! Thieves Target Cars in Asheboro

ASHEBORO N.C. - Asheboro Police are investigating one stolen vehicle and two attempted vehicle thefts that all occurred in a single weekend.
According to police reports from the Asheboro Police Department police responded to three separate calls for service between Nov 11th and Nov 14th, 2022, for vehicle thefts/break-ins.
On November 11th, 2022, an officer responded to Chapel Gate Ln for an attempted larceny of a motor vehicle. The officer spoke with the vehicle owner who stated that a male subject got into her vehicle while it was parked under the carport and attempted to drive it away. The owner stated that the male exited the vehicle as soon as he saw lights on the property come on and left the scene on foot.
