One Dead, Two Injured In Asheboro Shooting

ASHEBORO NC (ACME NEWS) – On Saturday, April 3, 2021, Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shooting on Plummer Street in Asheboro. The arriving officers found three subjects at the home, all with gunshot wounds.

According to a statement by the Randolph County Sherriff’s Office, 27-year old Robert Lewis Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other subjects were transported to nearby trauma hospitals. One subject is currently in surgery and the other is in stable condition.

Randolph County Sheriff’s Office detectives were on the scene late through the night and the investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: On April 4, 2021, Jessie Jaquan Pratt, who was shot during the incident on Plummer Street, was released from the hospital and taken into custody. According to officials at the Sheriff’s office an investigation of the shooting found evidence which resulted in Pratt’s arrest for Felony First Degree Murder. He is confined at the Randolph County Detention Center without bond. His first appearance in Randolph County District Court is scheduled for Monday, April 5, 2021.
