ASHEBORO N.C. – A man is in jail without bond today after police say he tried to attack family members with a knife but was subdued by the victims. That’s according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office who said in a press release that on December 9th, 2021, deputies responded to Featherstone Ct., in Trinity, in reference to an armed person. Deputies say when they arrived the victims reported the male had attacked them with a kitchen knife, but that they had been able to subdue him until police arrived.
Deputies placed the male whom they identified as William Edward Kuntz, under arrest. EMS responded to evaluate and treat Kuntz and the victims for their injuries. Kuntz was transported to the Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause for the offenses of two counts Felony Assault with Deadly Weapon – Intent to Kill and two counts of Assault with Deadly Weapon. Kuntz was given no bond and was set to appear in in Randolph County District Court yesterday.
