Suspect Charged With Second Degree Murder In Connection With Fatal Shooting

ASHEBORO N.C. – A suspect has been arrested and charged with Felony Second Degree Murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Randleman on Jan 8th.

Tonight the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release that they arrested 19-year-old Alexandre Osorio Carbajal (who also goes by the alias Alexander Hernandez). They say Carbajal arrose as a suspect as they investigated the January 8th shooting in Randleman that killed 20-year-old Daniel Lopez Vences.

The night of the shooting approximately 20 people who weren’t invited showed up to a party on Leonae and shortly after a fight broke out in the front yard that ended when a at the time, unknown suspect fired multiple gunshots before fleeing the scene.

Investigators took evidence they gather to the magistrate who issued a warrant for Carbajal for Felony Second Degree Murder. Today the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team located Carbajal in Asheboro. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail where he was served his warrant and issued a $500,000 secured bond plus Electronic House Arrest if released.

His first appearance was set for January 19, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
