Driver Charged with DUI After Crashing into Randleman Bar

RANDLEMAN N.C. - A driver was charged with driving under the influence last night after crashing into a bar in Randleman.  At around 10:30 p.m., Randleman Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into Red Zone Sports Bar & Grill, located at 725 S Main St, in Randleman.  Emergency crews arrived to find a dark GMC SUV that had crashed through a gate and into the east side of the building. Randolph County EMS responded to the scene to evaluate the driver, who refused transport to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.  The Randleman Police Department investigated the crash, which led to 27-year-old Peyton Alley Clark being issued a summons for driving under the influence. ASHEBORO N.C. - The National Weather Service Office in Raleigh has issued a Freeze Watch for Randolph County for Late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with temperatures expected to dip into the low 30's. According to forecasters at the National Weather Service Office in Raleigh, a cold front will move through the region tonight, followed by light rain from an upper disturbance overnight through Tuesday evening. High pressure will then build into the area behind the cold front, bringing the coldest air so far this season. Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 possible in Randolph and surrounding counties late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. Arrested Man Charged with Larceny for Stealing Cuffs from Patrol Car, says RCSO

RANDLEMAN N.C. - A man who was arrested on an outstanding warrant received an additional larceny charge after deputies say he stole a pair of cuffs from the patrol car he was being held in. On October 20th, 2023, a deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to Camellia Ln., in Randleman, for a report of an assault. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, the responding deputy met with the caller, Jeffrey Corum, and discovered he had an outstanding warrant for felony charges. Corum was escorted to the location of the assault in the patrol vehicle and asked to stay in the car while the deputy spoke to the parties involved. The first incident occurred on Thursday, October 19th, 2023, at approximately 7:59 p.m., when deputies responded to a reported armed robbery at the Mountain View Mart on Caraway Mountain Road in Sophia. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect, driving a black pickup truck, had fled the scene and was last seen on Green Farm Road. RANDLEMAN N.C. - A Virginia woman has been arrested and is facing felony trafficking charges after police say the located over eight pounds of heroin in her vehicle. On September 30th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 73/74 in Randleman. According to a press release, during that traffic stop deputies searched the vehicle and say they located and seized approximately 8 ½ pounds of heroin. The suspect, identified by the Sheriff's Office as Lori Kristen Price of Roanoke, VA, was arrested and transported to Randolph County Jail. A magistrate found probable cause for the charges of two counts of Trafficking in Heroin. She received a $1,000,000 secured bond with a first appearance set for October 2, 2023,...
